The Urannah Water Scheme is a new bulk water entity for North Queensland and comprises of a 940,000 ML dam to be built at Urannah and approximately 200km of pipeline corridors to Moranbah.
The dam will be approximately 1.5 times the size of Sydney Harbour.
The capacity of Urannah Dam will be almost 52% of the Burdekin Falls Dam while taking up less than 20% of the land area. The dam will provide up to 103,000 ML of water per year.
The Urannah Water Scheme is strategically located to maximise reliability and yield for changing seasons and climate change.
