Bowen River Utilities is an experienced project team who are working to deliver the Urannah Water Scheme, Collinsville Irrigation project and the Bowen Renewable Energy Hub.
Our projects will create thousands of local jobs, ensure greater water security, deliver prime agricultural land, provide more affordable energy and countless flow on economic benefits for locals in Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac regions.
During construction almost 1200 jobs will be created and once the water scheme is operational there will be more than 650 new jobs for the region. Importantly, this Urannah Water Scheme will unlock additional projects in North and Central Queensland that need water to become viable.
A preliminary business case has been completed and a detailed business case is currently underway.
The project team is committed to ongoing engagement with the local community, traditional owners and businesses.
