Community Consultation goes virtual
Bowen River Utilities Managing Director John Cotter today announced the first virtual community information session for the Bowen River Utilities projects.
“We are determined to get on with the job of getting our projects shovel ready to create thousands of jobs, deliver water security, prime agricultural land and cheaper energy. Despite the difficult circumstances in the face of COVID-19, we are fast tracking as much work as possible.”
“And that means, continuing with our community consultation and providing project updates to the local community of Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac regions.
“We have taken our community consultation virtual, with information sessions to be held via Zoom on Thursday 28 May and Friday 19 June. It is a great opportunity for local residents to learn about where we are up to with in the development of the project and about the broader economic benefits these projects will deliver for our regions.
“Of course, this is just the first in a long line up of sessions and events we are undertaking as part of our community consultation in the lead up to the release of our draft EIS and Detailed Business Case. Our project team has enjoyed the challenge of developing a range of engagement activities across all mediums that meet social distancing requirements while keeping the community up to date.
“Attendees can register by emailing [email protected] or follow us on Facebook to learn more.
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to again thank our landholders for their understanding, patience and cooperation during difficult and unforeseen circumstances as we navigate the safety measures put in place to ensure the wellbeing of all during the COVID-19 pandemic.
